Constructing the Robot (Weekly Update #4)

While last week was comprised of getting all of our ideas put into the real-world, this week was made up of finalizing our concepts in order to make them as useful and efficient as possible, in order to ensure we are performing at our best for the upcoming competitions we are attending.

More bumper production occurred this week. This was mostly handled by Build Team member Wyatt Smith and Electrical Team member Diego Grammer-Gold. Build Team as a whole worked mostly on replacing the walls of the shooter and intake with thicker polycarbonate that could withstand more impact and force. Making sure our robot can adequately withstand elements like this is vitally important to the performance of our robot, and the Build Team has made sure to ensure the robot is protected and stable.
The Electrical Team continued this week with wire management. The team tried many ideas to help reduce the amount of confusing and jumbled wiring, including using a CAD-printed piece of material that would help separate wires from each. By the end of the week, however, the team decided it would be best to use tubing to cover and seperate wires, a tactic the team used last year in 2025.
The Programming Team worked this week on getting the Vision system up and running. Photon Vision itself acknowledges the April Tags the team is using, but the code is not. The Programming Team is now attempting to use ASCOPE to troubleshoot the issues they are facing.
As always, TEMPEST Robotics is extending the arm of gratitude to you, viewer, for your interest in what we do during our annual robotics season. Your support means the world.
