Finalizing the Robot (Weekly Update #5)

After many weeks of hard work and effort, the team at TEMPEST Robotics is finally nearing the finish line for their robot. Parts are being finalized and names are being drafted in order to really bring this bot to life.

Bumpers have finally reached the end of production this year. They are a much needed part but often forgotten part of FIRST Robotics that may not get the attention they deserve during the build season itself. But, with help from the Build Team, TEMPEST was finally able to get them done in time for Drive Practice. Needless to say, those who did the work to complete the bumpers are happy that the mission has been completed.

The Build Team this week got both the shooter and the intake fully functioning, and are now going to take this upcoming week to fully finalize and refine their designs for these components of the robot. Efficiency and consistency are key to high point games at competition, and the Build Team is putting in a lot of effort into making sure the robot reaches these measures of ability.

The Electrical Team is happy to say that wire management for the bot is practically finished. All systems are connected and operational, and it is truly a great to see the Electrical Team reach such a huge milestone for this season. As for what the Electrical Team's plans are for this upcoming season, they will be focused on supporting the robot when something goes haywire or working on less essential things like team buttons, along with any other team members that are not busy with essentials.

The Programming Team this week played more with the Vision System, and continued working to fully understand it and all of the problems it faces them with. As the robot itself gets closer to completion, the Programming Team has been controlling the robot itself in real time, in order to test all of the relevant components and devices that the whole team has spent this build season working on.
